The Águas Claras Aerodrome was conceived based on the aerial community (fly-in community), which basically consists of allowing your plane to be inside your own home and to establish a whole network of aeronautical support services.
The Aerodrome is located in an area of 300.000m2, with an airstrip of 450 meters long and 20 meters wide and an extra escape area along to the its length, totalizing 930 meters available for operation.
It is certified for day and night visual operation, with a device for remote activation of the runway lights, operating 24 hours a day.
The aerodrome is located 35km from Porto Alegre, at the verge of the ERS-040 highway and 19 nautical miles from Salgado Filho International Airport.

The project is in the second phase of expansion, totalizing 23 plots of land ranging from 960m2 to 6,100m2.
All of them have access to the taxiways and runway. The taxiways also have lighting for night flights.

VIAMÃO AERONAUTICAL HUB
Established by law No. 4,938/2020 of the county of Viamão, the Aeronautical Hub of Viamão, located at the Águas Claras Aerodrome, is intended for commercial, leisure, residence, services and factories of the aeronautical industry, as well as all complementary and related activities to the functioning and operation of these units, development center, convention centers, spaces and buildings for the complex and other structures that can be complementary to its full development.
In February 2022, the Águas Claras Aerodrome signed a cooperation agreement with the Government of the State of Rio Grande do Sul for the use of the complex by the Aviation Battalion of the Military Brigade.
The agreement will give one more option for police missions, training and landings and takeoffs to the battalion, contributing to public safety.
By the end of this year, the company Drawanz Motores Aeronáuticos, a leader in the state in engine rectification, will start operating and will expand its services, meeting all the needs of an aircraft owner in terms of maintenance.
As well as Mennet Aviation, will start its activities as importer and reseller company of aircraft, engines and components.
Very soon, the Refueling Station at Aguas Claras will become an authorized fuel reseller, which will be the only one to give this service in the metropolitan region.
